This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.

We use Your Personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.


Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.

  • Application means the software program provided by the Company downloaded by You on any electronic device, named Private Chat App
  • Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to Private Chat App.
  • Country refers to: Maharashtra, India
  • Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Service refers to the Application.
  • Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
  • You mean the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.

When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device You use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

We may also collect information that Your browser sends whenever You visit our Service or when You access the Service by or through a mobile device.

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during our relationship with you.

Our App may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks and affiliates. Please note that these websites and any services that may be accessible through them have their own privacy policies which the users must read before submitting any personal data to these websites or using these services.

The types of data we process.
With a full and completely safe end-to-end encryption, we may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, the details of which are as follows:
  • Identity Data: mobile number, nickname, and profile picture (profile picture is optional). Contact Data: mobile number, so we could tell you which of your contacts are also using Shield Chat to enable you to start safe and end-to-end encrypted conversations with them.
  • Device Data: the mobile phone number used by the device, your mobile operating system - only if it is android or iOS, the time zone setting, log files, crashes, reports on performance, etc., get registered in our system to keep the App technically viable at all times.
  • Content Data: includes information stored on your device, including friends' lists, end-to-end encrypted photos, videos or other digital content, etc., so as to allow you to share such content with other Sheild Chat users.
  • Profile Data: includes your username.
  • Usage Data: includes details of your use of any of our Apps or your visits to any of Our Sites including, but not limited to, traffic data and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise.
  • Messages Data: user’s messages, which our end-to-end encryption services secure by encrypting them (including chats, calls, and multimedia content like photos, videos, and voice messages) and which remain in our system up to the point of delivery, which is a maximum of 30 days.
  • Calling Data: end-to-end encrypted call logs generated through the use of our App. Calling Data will show the date and timestamps. Please note that we never store or record your conversations or call-related information.
  • Status Data: your status information while using our App which is automatically updated in our system as well, including your online/offline status and your recent usage of our services (last seen).
  • Location Data: includes your current location that you may choose to share with your connections on the App when you use the location sharing feature available to you in the App. This is done only after your express permission. We never track location in the background.

Data security
Since our App deals extensively with the exchange of information, we understand how vital it is to safeguard that information. For that, we have placed the best security protocols in the structure of the App, including end-to-end encryption for your messages. End-to-end encryption means that nobody, except the generator of the message and the intended receiver, will have the access to your private conversations. The protocol also covers end-to-end encrypted one-on-one calls so that no unintended third-party can eavesdrop. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Where we send you an OTP (which is temporary and valid only for a limited time), you are responsible for keeping this OTP confidential. We ask you not to share this temporary OTP with anyone. Once we have received your information, we will use reasonable procedures and security features to try to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way. Your Data is stored directly on your own device storage. We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator when we are legally required to do so. If at any time in future we add the payment features to our App (in which case you will be informed in advance), any payment transactions facilitated by us, or our chosen third-party provider of payment processing services will be encrypted using appropriate encryption technology.


Children Under 13.
We neither permit nor encourage the use of the App by children under the age of 13. If you as a parent are setting up an account for such minors, you must do so under your credentials and supervision. In essence, we do not intentionally store any personal information of any minor...
